Scope and Contents
Papers include membership lists, a section of membership meeting notes, and volunteer information sheets for the Chicago chapter of the NAMES Project. Also included are sign-up sheets for C-FAR and various AIDS-related articles, pamphlets, etc.

Biographical / Historical
Dale R. Muehler was a long-time Chicago activist. He was involved in the founding Chicago chapter of the NAMES Project in December 1987 and was briefly the chapter’s secretary. He was the secretary and one of the organizers of the 1987 Chicago March on Washington Committee (CMOWC). He was also a co-founder of C-FAR (Chicago For AIDS Rights), which later became ACT-UP Chicago.

All material is organized under the NAMES Project heading. There are five series based on type of material. Material is further subdivided at the folder level, largely by date. C-FAR materials are filed under the Volunteer series.

Provenance
Dale R. Muehler donated his papers on 19 August 1991. The collection was prepared by John Mackey, based on the original accession by Diane Asseln, the consulting archivist. The material was in fair condition, with some surface dirt, papers in disarray, torn edges, creasing, etc.
