Biographical / Historical
Founded in 1993 by Wanda and Brenda Henson, and located in Ovett, Mississippi, Camp Sister Spirit is a charitable IRS-recognized organization, committed to providing people counseling, information, education, referral, advocacy, and meeting space to address social issues. In addition to being an accepting, non-discriminatory environment catering to women/womyn and LGBTQ folks, the camp also hosted annual summit meeting and training for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender activists.
